November 30, 2024 China Information and Communication Conference and Annual Meeting of the China Institute of Communications opened in Chengdu. This conference, themed “Technology Leads Innovation, Industry Builds the Future” aims to focus on cutting-edge technologies and promote industrial cooperation.

Far East Communications, a subsidiary of CETC Netcom, as a co-organizer of the 3rd Energy Internet Technology Forum held concurrently with the conference, was invited to attend and showcase its innovative achievements for the power industry.

At this conference, in addition to traditional power dispatch communication and power emergency communication solutions and products, Far East Communications also showcased Power Wireless Control Private Network (EPDT) solutions and EPDT data transmission terminals and other new products, which attracted widespread attention from the attending leaders, experts, and representatives.

EPDT, a new choice for power wireless control private networks

In response to the requirements of the "Supporting Scheme for Power Grid Operation Communication Technology under the Background of New Power Systems", under the guidance of the National Dispatching Center and the organization of the China Electric Power Research Institute, Far East Communications participated in the standard formulation, product research and development, and experimental verification of the Power Wireless Control Private Network (EPDT), and launched Acro®EPDT Power Wireless Control Private Network Solution covering core network, base stations, terminals and modules a full set of equipment, solving the problem of dedicated network carrying for power control services.
 

This solution uses the 230MHz dedicated frequency band for power, with advantages such as wide coverage, flexible deployment, high spectrum utilization, and strong anti-interference capability. It can provide a safe and real-time data channel for power distribution control services, and at the same time provide efficient and reliable voice communication for power emergency command. Currently, Far East Communications has obtained several pilot construction projects for EPDT from power units, laying a solid foundation for the further promotion of the solution.
